Our annual Bushido Halloween Contest was held on Saturday, October 26, 2024!
This year gathering was filled with fun, inspiration, and creativity as attendees showcased their costumes, participated karaoke, and indulged in delicious food.
The excitement culminated in a prize for the best costume. We can't wait to see you at the 2025!

Niagara Falls Adventure, A Journey to Remember
Our recent trip to Niagara Falls was a thrilling experience, especially for those who witnessed its breathtaking beauty for the first time. The sheer power and majestic wonder of the falls left us all in awe.
But the excitement began long before we arrived. Our road trip was filled with laughter and camaraderie, featuring:
- Karaoke contests that showcased hidden talents
- Jokes and stories that kept us entertained
- Delicious lunch breaks that fueled our adventure
The scenic drive only added to the anticipation, and the falls did not disappoint.
We were mesmerized by the roaring waters and surrounding natural beauty.
It was a truly unforgettable experience that we'll cherish forever.

Summer Success: Bushido's Kids Program!
From June 3rd to August 8th, our young adventurers embarked on an unforgettable journey, immersing themselves in Japanese culture and martial arts traditions.
Through our comprehensive summer program, they discovered:
- The Japanese alphabet and calligraphy techniques
- The ancient art of origami
- The focus and discipline of archery training
But that's not all! Our young participants also developed essential life skills, including:
- Improved focus and concentration
- Consistency in their daily training and practice
We're incredibly proud of their progress and can't wait to see their continued growth.

Our recent camping trip was an absolute blast! With each passing year, our enthusiasm for camping grows, and this year's adventure was no exception.
We shared unforgettable moments, created new memories, and strengthened our bonds as a martial arts family.
We're already counting down the days until our next camping trip, where we'll continue to build camaraderie, challenge ourselves, and enjoy the great outdoors together.

Schaumburg Dojo Anniversary and Hanami

As spring bids farewell, Schaumburg Dojo marked its first anniversary with a traditional Japanese Hanimi ceremony.
The event was a joyous celebration of community and friendship, as students from Gurnee and Schaumburg came together to share stories and laughter.
We indulged in a delicious sushi lunch, savoring the flavors and company of our follow Bushi.
Children attended with their parents, enjoying the festivities alongside their Bushi friends.
As we revel in the beauty of the Sakura, we are reminded of the fleeting nature of life. These wise words echo in our minds:
"Hana wa sakura-gi hito wa bushi"
(The flower is the cherry blossom, and the man is the warrior)
Bushido Halloween Party

On October 29th, 2023, the Schaumburg location hosted its first Halloween Potluck party.
The event was a great success, with kids and their families having a lot of fun and showing off their creative costumes.
We can't wait for the next party!

Self-defense

On Saturday, September 16th, 2023 at 1:00 PM
We had the pleasure of hosting a self-defense class organized by STDL for their members.
During the class, participants learned the basics of self-defense and situational awareness.
We also discussed the importance of daily stretching and breathing to maintain flexibility, agility, and mental health.
The sensei provided tips and exercises to do at home, making the class both fun and informative. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed it!
Get together Bushido Members

Saturday, August 26th Bushido Picnic and get together! This event is a great opportunity for all Bushido members to meet each other, interact with individuals from other classes, and boost their social skills.
We share each other's food, play games and have fun together.
It's one of the ways to build a bond as a family.
Our students always look forward to it.
Japanese Anime Cosplay Contest

On July 15th, 2023, we hosted our first cosplay contest and were pleasantly surprised by the turnout. Not only did and teens participate, but adults and families joined in on the fun as well.
We saw some amazing performances from famous characters such as One Piece, Demon Slayer, Avatar, Kenshin, Genshin Impact, and Spider-Man.
The winner of the contest was Ruronin Kenshin. We are excited to announce that this will be an annual event taking place every July, and we can't wait for the next in 2024.

Great news! On Sunday August 13th, we participated in the Gurnee Days Parade with a Ronin and Sumo wrestler, demonstrating nunchuck skills.
We had a wonderful time meeting our lovely community and neighboring businesses.

Bushido Annual Camping Trip
Council Ground State Park WI.
In early June,2023, we organized a weekend of outdoor activities for our group. It was a great opportunity for everyone to have fun learn new skills. The teens worked together to build their tents while the adults shared their survival knowledge with the group.
It was a fantastic experience for all involved.
Lecture in Lake Villa Library
The History of Japanese Martial Arts
Kaicho Sanada's lecture at the district library on May 18th, 2023, was a fascinating insight into the history of Japanese martial arts. He discussed the way of life of the Samurai and the various martial arts schools that emerged in Japan over time. In addition, he briefly touched upon other cultural customs that will be explored in future events. It was an informative and engaging lecture that left the audience wanting more.
BUSHIDO SCHAUMBURG GRAND OPEN
武士道協会シャーンバーグ新規開業させました
Bushido Kyokai celebrated the grand opening of its new location in Schaumburg area on May 6th, 2023. The event was a great success with exciting performances by Bushido students in Kyudo, Iaido, Jujutsu, and nunchucks. The event also featured a Taiko performance and Japanese food, tea, coffee, and juice sponsored by Umbrella Tea House.
It was a truly memorable day for all, and we look forward to the exciting times ahead for Bushido Kyokai.
